 My Fundraising Goal:
 Money Raised to Date:
Join me in my efforts to support The Breast Cancer Research Foundation!

I am honored to be one of five running in the New York City Marathon on November 4, 2012 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

My mom passed away in May of 2008 after a three year battle with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She was a courageous, determined woman through it all and I firmly believe that the medical advances that have been made extended her lifetime. During just her last month with us, she met her fourth grandchild and attended my brotherís wedding.

I chose to run for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) as they funded clinical trials that led to the development of Herceptin, an integral part of my mom's treatment that extended her life and allowed her to do and see more of the world than she could have otherwise. Had it been ten years earlier, this breakthrough would not yet have been made. I want to support continued research, which has long reaching effects both medically and individually.

Please support me in my training and my goal of raising $2,700 for the BCRF. Currently 90 cents of every dollar donated supports breast cancer research and awareness programs. The BCRF website has phenomenal details on their website ( regarding their mission, research, and progress, and why they are the top rated charity.

It is amazing to be a part of something bigger than yourself and being fortunate enough to run as a way to give back to the medical community. I am partially through my sixteen week training... each run I wear pink and my thoughts turn towards my amazing mom, as well as the big and little meanings of life.

1 out of 8 women will develop breast cancer in their lifetime. Please support me as I run 26.2 miles for my mom and the many others affected by breast cancer. If you like, please feel free to send me a private message of any names you would like me to honor by carrying them with me on race day.

I appreciate your support!
